DAMAC Properties Secures Naming Rights for Dubai Marina Metro Station

 

DAMAC Properties has secured the naming rights for the Dubai Marina Metro Station. 

The company, which is one of Dubai’s largest luxury real estate developers, has signed a five year agreement with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to name the stop ‘DAMAC’ as part of the company’s commitment to invest in its home city.

The signing ceremony took place at RTA Headquarters in Umm Ramool in the presence of Mr. Hussain Sajwani, Chairman and CEO of DAMAC Properties and H.E.  Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

“As one of the largest and most prominent companies in Dubai, helping to drive the emirate’s growth and global appeal, we wanted to give something back and support the impressive infrastructure growth being undertaken by the Dubai government to support population and tourism growth,” he added.

Established in 2002, DAMAC Properties has delivered almost 11,000 units to date and currently has a development portfolio of over 26,000 units at various stages of progress and planning as of June 30th, 2014.

H.E.  Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said: “We are delighted to have DAMAC Properties a key supporter of the Dubai Metro. We only work with established and recognizable companies which have close associations with the surrounding area. DAMAC Properties has been at the forefront of real estate development for many years and is a key partner in supporting Dubai.”

The DAMAC station serves around 100,000 people who live in Dubai Marina, connecting through the Red line. The station opened in April 2010 and includes a walkway over Sheikh Zayed Road to support Jumeirah Lakes Towers. The DAMAC station will also connect to the 14.5 km Al Sufouh Tramway when it opens later this year.
