Dubai, UAE, 18 May 2023: DAMAC Properties is thrilled to announce that its DAMAC Hills 2 community has opened up a host of new amenities for residents to enjoy, including its very own Malibu Beach and Lazy River, bringing cool Californian coast vibes right to residents’ doorsteps.

The opening of these leisure facilities is in line with the Dubai-based developer’s commitment to raising the bar when it comes to community living, ensuring that residents have everything they need right on their doorsteps.

Among the additions are a waterpark, a bird aviary, and an array of fields, pitches and courts for sports enthusiasts.

“While DAMAC is responsibly launching new products to market, it never stops focusing upon its existing projects. Customer is key to us, and we want our residents to not only live in our communities, but thrive in our communities,” Niall McLoughlin, Senior Vice President of DAMAC said.

The bird aviary will welcome birds of various species including the Glossy Ibis, Sun Conures, Vulturine Guineafowl, Rose-ringed Parakeet, Western bronze-naped Pigeons, Splendid Starlings, Blackcap Babblers, Lemon Doves and Black-bellied Sandgrouse. Residents can take a walk through the massive aviary whilst the birds perch and fly around them — a fun activity that all ages can enjoy.

In Water Town, residents can enjoy the laid-back Californian vibes of Malibu Beach, similarly named after its predecessor, Malibu Bay in DAMAC Hills. Here, there is something for everyone: Kids will love the wave pool and splash pads, while others can simply relax and float the day away in the lazy river. Malibu Beach also includes VIP and regular cabanas, a big screen TV, a juice bar, a beach volleyball court, a surround sound system and a DJ booth.

Other amenities include sports pitches that have been built across the community, including in the large main park, with one football pitch at Picnic Park.

Existing amenities include an outdoor cinema, a dog park, a petting farm and jogging and cycling track. There are also tennis and basketball courts, a cricket pitch and vast spaces in the Central Park where residents can do yoga or any other type of fitness activity.

The community has also opened two nurseries and its community mall is fully let. It includes a Carrefour grocery store, restaurants and other retail outlets. Another exciting development is that residents can now order food delivery to their homes on Talabat.

Upcoming amenities at the community will include the Pavillion Park, which forms part of the large central park, where children will be able to enjoy a game of outdoor snakes and ladders and chess, a spider net climbing frame, a maze, a playground, while families can enjoy barbeques at the picnic areas and large open grass area and amphitheatre. Also on the cards are a new paintball area, a boating lake, and a surf pad.

Launched in 2014, DAMAC Hills 2 now is home to more than 28,000 residents. The 55-million square foot community is DAMAC’s second master development, which came after the success of its first community — DAMAC Hills.

The developer launched its third master development in Dubai — DAMAC Lagoons late 2021. The water-inspired development is themed on popular tourist destinations of the Mediterranean and aims to make vacation living part of everyday life for its residents.

The success of DAMAC in Dubai has propelled it to expand globally and it now has projects in Miami, Toronto and the Maldives. Early last year, DAMAC handed over its flagship project in Europe — DAMAC Towers Nine Elms, a stunning tower in the prestigious zone 1 district of London overlooking the River Thames, with interiors by Versace.

“As we are expanding globally, DAMAC will continue to develop in Dubai where there is a thriving and vibrant real estate market and where demand continues to rise. Our brand will continue to focus on delivering luxury living experiences with unique features, amenities and branded associations,” McLoughlin added.
