Iconic projects from Beirut and Dubai to be showcased

DAMAC Properties, the Middle East’s leading independent real estate company, will be showcasing its award-winning regional development portfolio at the Kuwait Real Estate & Investment Exhibition, at the Kuwait International Fair Ground from April 11 to 16.

DAMAC Properties’ highlighted residential projects at stand B04, will include International Property Award-winning DAMAC Tower in Beirut, and the iconic Ocean Heights and Park Towers in Dubai.

“DAMAC Properties is the largest independent real estate company in the Middle East; we have a proven track record of delivery, and we are exhibiting at the Real Estate & Investment Exhibition in Kuwait to show that we are continuing to progress,” said Niall McLoughlin, Senior Vice President of DAMAC Properties.

“This is an established event on the property developers’ calendar, and we are pleased to be back here again to display our luxurious, elegantly designed, high quality properties. This show is a great platform for people in Kuwait interested in our state-of-the-art properties from across the region,” he added.

Being showcased at the event will be DAMAC Tower, the first exclusive VERSACE Home branded residential tower in the region. Situated in the elite marina area of the new Solidiere development in Beirut, the tower has extensive views of the Mediterranean. With spectacular flowing curves and undulating volumes, the 28-storey building was designed to emulate the surging waves of the ocean, and was recently recognised with a prestigious international property award for “Best High Rise Architecture”.

“DAMAC Tower is a stunning blend of exquisite VERSACE interiors, unique architectural design, in an enviable location on the shores of the Mediterranean.
It has been recognised on the global stage, which distinguishes the project as one of the most highly regarded residential developments in the world,” continued McLoughlin.

DAMAC Properties will also feature a number of its leading properties from the UAE including, Ocean Heights, the award-winning, 82-storey marvel of modern architecture that twists slightly from the base to the top of the structure, ensuring 75% of the apartments have at least one ocean view.

Designed by world-renowned architects Aedas, Ocean Heights has won a number of international accolades for its unique architectural design, notably the Bentley and Arabian Property Awards. The twisting design of the building proposed a challenge for engineers, who took shifts in geometry as soft gradual moves over 310 meters of height, to produce a sculpted and dynamic final structure.

“Ocean Heights is a masterpiece, in terms of both architectural design and engineering. It’s an imposing structure with decadent interiors, and seeing Ocean
Heights completed is a significant milestone for DAMAC Properties” added McLoughlin. “It is a signature development for DAMAC Properties; everything about it is on a grand scale. It is the tallest, most luxurious and most complex project we have delivered to date”.

Ocean Heights was constructed by leading gulf contractor, Arabtec, with Drake and Scull International PJSC responsible for all mechanical, electrical and plumbing works at the site. At the peak of construction there were 2,000 people working on site. It was a record breaking build, taking less than three years to construct, during which time a total of 12.5 million man hours were worked. Drake and Scull used enough electricity cabling and wiring to reach from Dubai to Baghdad and enough steel to build two Eifel Towers.

Also featured from Dubai will be Park Towers. The concept architect was award-winning San Francisco based firm Gensler, the same architect responsible for the ‘DIFC Gate Building.’ The design is reminiscent of the iconic ‘Gherkin’ tower in the City of London; only in Dubai there are two towers, side by side.

The unique architectural design of the towers is aesthetically pleasing from both the exterior and interior perspectives of the buildings. The curved glazed facade allows every apartment to have a view beyond 180 degrees.

DAMAC Properties continues to deliver luxury projects across the MENA region and throughout 2011 will hand over a further seven towers comprising 3,387 high-end units. DAMAC Properties representatives will be available at the stand for more information on exhibited and upcoming projects.
